About the lesson
Frances Eliza Hodgson Burnett was an English-American novelist and playwright. She is best known for the three children's novels Little Lord Fauntleroy (published in 1885–1886), A Little Princess (1905), and The Secret Garden (1911). Her selected work includes A Fair Barbarian , The Good Wolf , A Little Princess , The Secret Garden and etc.
It is story of a girl Mary Lennox , she is a cross, ugly nine-year-old girl who is raised by a series of servants in India because her mother does not want to be bothered with her. As a consequence, Mistress Mary is a spoiled, lethargic, anemic girl who has never even dressed herself and imperiously gives orders to everyone around her; not surprisingly, no one likes her. She is so secluded (and ignored) that only a few people even know she exists; she is so selfish and self-absorbed that no one cares.
After that she made few friend who showed her the walled garden of roses. Here she started walking and her appetite was also improved. As Mary is exploring the periphery of the gardens, her robin friend draws her attention to an area of turned-over soil. She found out the secret in garden that his cousin was locked there and was suffering from unspecified spinal problem.
